Food Photography and behind the scene
Today I did a quick shot for my food portfolio, broccoli underwater, a fresh look with some color. I get many enquiries and clients seeking to photograph their food menus or products, so its good to have an up to date portfolio, and always lots of fun to get in the studio and play around with the lighting.
Here are some tips on the flash lighting I used.
1. Two soft boxes on the flash heads. Also had the fish tank inside a small product box that difuses the light, so I had sorft light on either site of the Broccoli.
2. Here you can see the fish tank. I also like to use a light meter to make sure flahses are set correctly.
3. Here you can see the back of the set, I had a back light with a directional honey comb, and an orange gel to give some contrast from the green Broccoli.
4. Here you can see the camera mounted on the tripod with a shot on the screen. The final shot hardly needed any retouching apart from some dust spots.
5. Final photo I have choosen at the moment, I might go back and have another look at the photoshoot, there where a few nice ones, probably tomorrow I will like another one!
